A bit of info and history of The Plaza
The Plaza Hotel and Casino redefines luxury in Downtown Las Vegas, striking the perfect balance between comfort and sophistication. Nestled within the vibrant Fremont Street Experience, this iconic hotel has stood as a symbol of Las Vegas hospitality for half a century. A recent revitalization project has allowed the Plaza to preserve its classic charm while embracing a contemporary aesthetic.
Featuring spacious rooms and suites with breathtaking views of both the glittering Las Vegas Strip and the dynamic Downtown area, the Plaza offers an unparalleled experience. Guests can indulge in world-class entertainment, explore a brand-new casino floor boasting a diverse selection of signature and traditional gaming options, and savor exquisite dining experiences at a first-class steakhouse and new restaurants. With its comprehensive range of amenities, the Plaza ensures that every guest enjoys a truly unforgettable stay.
Situated at the heart of Downtown Las Vegas, the Plaza occupies the historic site of the city’s first train depot and auction house, erected by the San Pedro-Los Angeles-Salt Lake Railroad in 1905. Co-founded by Senator William A. Clark of Montana and his brother, J. Ross Clark, the railroad venture thrived until its sale to Union Pacific in 1921. Though the original depot was demolished in 1970 to make way for the Union Plaza Hotel, the Plaza Hotel and Casino continues to honor this rich legacy while shaping the future of hospitality in Las Vegas.
